2010 Buck

I did it. It has taken me 16 years, but I finally did it. Last Sunday, I got a 12-point buck. Not a perfect 6x6, but I'll take it. This one's going on the wall.

For A Good Cause

It's that time of year again. The annual pedal plane I build to raffle off for my pilot's club is finished and ready for a new home.

The drawing will be on Sep. 21. And to further pimp it out, you can go to www.freewebs.com/glenndalepedalplane to learn more about the great charity it will help, and to buy tickets!

Bad Blogger

Yes, I've been a bad blogger again. I let myself get busy with work and neglect the blogworld. I finished up on a bathroom remodel recently that dang near kilt me. I was putting in 12 and 14 hour days trying to get this project finished as quickly as possible. I did a lot of tile work, which is new to me. Here are a couple shots of the bath/shower tile, a running bond pattern with a wall niche I talked the client into.

I also installed floor tile, but don't have any good pictures. It was a basic total gut job, down to the studs and in with all new everything.

Now I'm gearing up to work on my annual pedal plane charity. Last year's can be seen here: http://flyboy150c.blogspot.com/2007/09/2007-pedal-plane.html This year it will be orange with white stripes. I am setting up a web page to advertise it more...details to follow.

Dustin' It Up

I was awakened this morning to the beautiful sound of a prop pulling heavy on the air. Living out in the middle of corn fields, it was inevitable that one day would find crop dusters out swaying their dance above the crops.
The grace these pilots display as they pirouette on one wing in a tight banking turn makes me feel like a kid again. To them, it's all in a days' work. To me, it's a dance in the sky.

Here he is lining up above my back yard in a descent to the corn.

South of my yard, dropping down out of the sky.

Just off the back corner of the yard with spray on.
